Thanks to the passion of its current owners, Dubiecko Castle is now a gem of the Carpathian Trail of Gardens and Historic Houses – a place where the present intertwines with history.
Dubiecko Castle was built in the 16th century. Over the centuries, the castle was repeatedly rebuilt by successive owners belonging to the families of Kmitów, Stadnicki, and Krasicki. The current shape of the building was given in the 19th and 20th centuries, and the final touch of the interior is owed to an impressive renovation carried out in the 21st century.
The history of the Castle in Dubiecko is connected with the lives of two famous figures. In 1551, the adventurer Stanisław Stadnicki, known as the “Devil of Łańcut,” was born here, and in 1735 – Ignacy Krasicki, later bishop of Warmia, archbishop of Gniezno, and an outstanding poet. The castle interiors were also witnesses to the creation of one of the most beautiful Polish carols – “God is Born,” written by Franciszek Karpiński.
